OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2012. Maintenance and repair works have started at JSC  Irkutskenergo. Although the 2011/2012 heating season at JSC  Irkutskenergo’s power stations is not finished yet, the decrease in heat load enabled to start scheduled repairs of part of major equipment.

For instance, power generating unit 7 of CHPP-10 has been under repair since 1 March. This unit includes steam generators of stations 13 and 14 and the turbine unit of station 7. This equipment will undergo a considerable amount of standard and special repair work. At the Novo-Irkutskaya CHPP, the boiler of station 3 is undergoing major overhaul which includes replacement of the air preheater and partial replacement of furnace heating surfaces.

Overall, 59 steam generators, 27 turbine units and 8 hydroelectric units are to be repaired at JSC  Irkutskenergo in 2012. About RUB 5 billion have been allocated for financing the repairs. The start of maintenance and repair works was preceded by thorough preparation, which included designing working schedules, ordering all necessary materials and spare parts, inviting tenders and signing contracts for the works.

The major equipment is repaired and upgraded in accordance with the annual schedule approved by the System Operator of the Unified Energy System of Russia.

CEO of JSC  Irkutskenergo Evgeny Fedorov: “The primary aim of these maintenance and repair works is to provide the clients with reliable power supply as early as the next heating season. The amount of works scheduled is considerable, that is why they start so early. The employees of repair services are ready to carry them out.”
