OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2012. Belarusian foreign trade surplus amounted to USD 315.3 million in January 2012, compared to a USD 495 million deficit in January 2011, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

The overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 7.234 billion in January 2012, up 49.8% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 74.2% to USD 3.775 billion, and imports increased 29.9% to USD 3.46 billion.

Commodity trade surplus reached USD 186 million in January 2012 to compare with a USD 643 million deficit in January 2011 (USD 3.413 billion of exports, up 87.6% on the year, and USD 3.227 billion of imports, up 31%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 129.3 billion, down 12.6% on year (USD 362.1 million of exports, up 4.2%, and USD 232.8 million of imports, up 16.6%).
