OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. The annual event is held by the Russian Association for Networks and Services (RANS) with support of the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation

The Russian Telecom Equipment Company became a sponsor of the 11th conference "Trust and Security in ICT" which was held in Moscow on March 22-23.  Participants of the event discussed critical challenges of the local IT industry development:  protection of personal data in service providers' information systems; data security in cloud computing; improvement of SORM (the system for operative investigative activities) legal basis, etc.

Igor Lopukhov, sales director of RTEC, made a presentation in section "Data security in cloud computing". In his presentation Mr. Lopukhov disclosed the approach of Crossbeam RT (joint venture of RTEC and Crossbeam Systems) to building data security platforms.  The main feature of that approach is the possibility of simultaneous operation of Russian and foreign data security applications on top of the unified "trusted" Crossbeam RT hardware-software platform.

The Crossbeam RT X-Series security platform is a network in one box combining network technologies with appliction processing.  "The secret of the platform is that it’s actually a virtual infrastructure that is change-ready to customers’ applications and performance needs", noted Igor Lopukhov.  "The Crossbeam RT portfolio merges - on a joint platform - a lot of diverse applications (firewalls, Web-application and database security tools, intrusion detection and prevention features, anti-virus software, email protection services, virtual private networks, encryption tools, etc).   It helps the customers to easily control, provision and scale their security systems.

The platforms are certified in the framework of the RTEC program aimed at manufacturing of trusted telecommunications equipment for the Russian market.  The equipment is produced at the enterprises of the  State Corporation "Rostechnologii".
