OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2012. In the Hungarian town Vaya a two-day meeting of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Intergovernmental Joint Commission on cross-border and cross-border cooperation completed its work. Hungarian side was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice and Administration Committee Eric Sabo, co-chairman of the Commission on the Ukraine - Minister of Emergencies Viktor Baloga.

"The main goal of our work is to simplify the relations between Hungary and Ukraine, so that it will be felt by the citizens of our countries. I am sure that the activities of the Commission is a part of the European integration of Ukraine, brings it to the European Union "- said the official.

Special attention, as in previous sessions, was given to the order to cross the state border between Ukraine and Hungary and obtaining Schengen visas by Ukrainian citizens. According to the Hungarian side, consular offices of the country issuing more visas while reducing bounce. One third of Ukrainian is already receiving multiple entry visas, and their number will grow.

However, some innovations introduced on the border by the Hungarian side, caused a lively discussion. The Ukrainian delegation, in particular, expressed their understanding on the need for documentary evidence of visa holders (regardless of visa history) purpose of travel and restrictions on entry to Hungary by road depending on the frequency of crossing with a full tank of fuel. Hungarian representatives explained these innovations based on protection of the Schengen countries. It was stated Ukraine's progress in improving migration legislation. Also drawing attention to the possibility of Hungary to increase the number of issued multiple entry visas for individuals with positive visa history.

During the meeting it was considered a number of important projects of cooperation at the regional level concerning local border traffic, transport, ecology, cultural exchange. Special attention paid to the means of facilitating the crossing during the European Championship finals.
Minister Viktor Baloha called the maintenance of the crossing points of the Ukrainian-Hungarian border on the highway leading to the bridge of the championship matches as one of the tasks in preparation for Euro-2012.
