OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2012. The US indices mostly fell on Monday. S&P 500 Index added 0.75% while Russell was up by 1.24% with Basic Materials (+1.38%), Technology (+1.12%) as the leaders. Put/call ratio was at 1.24 and 90-110% skew was at 9.47. Advance/Decline ratio was at 208/283.

ISM Manufacuring Index rose to 53.4 vs consensus forecast of 53, indicating that economic activity remains strong in the US.

Construction spending rose by 1.1% vs consensus forecast of a 0.6% rise.

Asian indices were mostly optimistic on Monday. Hang Seng added 0.83%, Japanese Nikkei was down by 0.56%. S&P/ASX 200 added 0.18%. Chinese indices added on average 0.4%.

PPI Index for Europe, Factory Orders, Fed minutes for US will be in focus today.
