OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. New equipment was accepted for operation at the Nazarovo open-pit mine affiliated to OJSC SUEK-Krasnoyarsk. The Japanese backhoe loader KOMATSU WB 93-R5 became available to the heat-and-water supply shop of the Nazarovo open-pit mine when the frost was the severest and the need to load coal to the boiler house the utmost. So it was almost immediately put into operation.

The loader is quite maneuverable and multifunctional. It may function as a backhoe excavator, a bulldozer or as a loader. However, the mine specialists resolved to use KOMATSU WB 93 - R5 not only to fetch coals from the coal yard to load the boiler house, the loader will also move earth whenever heat supply pipelines or other utilities need repair or replacement. With the maximum digging depth of 6 metres this machine is fit for mobile earth moving operations of any complexity. The backhoe loader is designed not only to dig ditches but also to clean the area after finishing the earth moving, to level and improve the appearance of a dug area.

Another clear benefit of the new machine is its interior. The cabin with wide view windows and the adjustable seat provide a good picture of the surroundings while working either in forward or reverse gear. Easy and comfortable operation is provided by hydraulic steering, semi-automatic transmission and additionally engaged front axle. The vehicle easily resists the below zero temperatures down to minus 30 degrees.
