OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) announced TICO will build its first lift truck manufacturing plant in the state of Sao Paulo in Brazil. The plant is scheduled to begin production in October 2013.

 Currently, TICO has a sales company in the state of Sao Paulo, Toyota Material Handling Mercosur Industria e Comercio de Equipamentos Ltda (TMHM), which provides sales and service of imported lift trucks. The new plant will be established as a manufacturing division of the existing sales company.

 As a market leader, TICO provides a full range of lift trucks and other materials handling equipment to customers worldwide. "The addition of the Brazil plant strategically strengthens TICO's capabilities to meet the unprecedented product demands of the emerging Brazilian market. TICO's long-term strategy is to continue to study and establish the best production and distribution structure throughout the world to meet demands of emerging markets," said Kazue Sasaki, senior managing director in charge of TICO's Materials Handling Equipment Division.
