OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2012. MCC Ramu NiCo Limited (MCC Ramu) announces that an initial success has been achieved in loading trial run in the facilities under Ramu NiCo Project in Papua New Guinea (PNG). The linkage trial run was started on February 29, 2012. The ore pulp was conveyed through a long-distance pipeline of 135km, and then the first industrial trail production was commenced 19, 2012, reported the press-centre of MCC Group.

The development of Ramu NiCo Project has attracted keen attention and support from the governments of both PNG and China. MCC Group attaches great importance to the project implementation and conducts direct lead and guidance for this purpose. All the shareholders have offered enormous aids, and all the stakeholders have extended perfect cooperation and essential support.

The various contractors and supervisors, such as China ENFI Engineering Corp. (ENFI), the 19th China Metallurgical Construction Group (19MCC Group), China 20MCC Construction Group (20MCC Group), China 22MCC Group (22MCC Group), CISDI Engineering Group (CISDI Group), China Communications Construction Co., Brass and Hatch, have made outstanding contribution to the project construction.

Under this works, MCC-JJJ Mining Development Company Limited and MCC Ramu are responsible for the project development and management, as well as preparation and organization of the production work.

In the interest to realize the sustainable and stable production, MCC Ramu has redoubled efforts in enhance the controlling capability for various technical parameters.

While approaching to the production stage, MCC Ramu is to face the following new challenges: (i) difficulties in engineering-industry transformation in laterites mining and metallurgical process; (ii) progressive improvement of various management regulations for production purpose and creating more values for shareholders; (iii) continuous enhancement of adaptation capabilities in terms of the external social environment, requirements on safety and environment protection and local industrial and labor laws, as well as the capability in shielding against risks.
