OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2012. The National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) approved a change in the implementation schedule of the Company’s Energia Pecem Thermo Power Plant and moved the date provided by the Regulated Market Power Purchase Agreement (CCEAR) to July 23, 2012 or the date of actual commencement of the plant’s commercial operations, whichever comes first.

The Company will start to receive the fixed revenues guaranteed in the A-5 auction held in 2007 at the commencement of the commercial operation of the first turbine in proportion to the capacity produced. The plant sold 615 average MW ensuring annual fixed revenues of BRL  543.3 million (as of December, 2011) for a 15-year period. The fixed revenue amount will be adjusted in accordance with the IPCA inflation index (Amplified Consumer Prices Index – IBGE).

The plant, a 50%/50% partnership between MPX and EDP-Energias do Brasil S.A., is currently in the final stages of construction and has already started the commissioning phase for operations.
