OREANDA-NEWS. April 10, 2012. India's largest integrated power utility Tata Power’s Belgaum power station once again organised an anti-plastic campaign in association with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) and BS Sheshagiri School, Belgaum.

This initiative from Tata Power’s Belgaum plant was organised to encourage environment conservation by reducing the usage of plastic materials. The anti-plastic campaign saw the distribution of 600 jute bags to the students of BS Sheshagiri School and their parents. An informative talk on the ill effects of the usage of plastics was presented by officials of Tata Power’s Belgaum plant.

Speaking on the campaign, BK Bhat, plant manager, Tata Power Belgaum, said, “We are delighted with the success of this initiative, the response for which has been very positive. We would like to thank KSPCB and BS Sheshagiri School for their support and cooperation. We will continue organising such initiatives for the betterment of society.”

The event was held at the premises of BS Sheshagiri School and was well attended by the principal and the staff members of the school, environment officers from KSPCB and officials from Tata Power Belgaum.
