OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2012. Swedbank, in cooperation with the technologies companies Hansab, has equipped Swedbank’s cash machines in Latvia with a new security feature – non-removable ink. It is a globally tested mechanism of additional protection against ATM theft or break-in attempts, reported the press-centre of Swedbank.

This means that upon any attempt to unlawfully access the contents of the cash machine the money will be damaged with special non-removable ink and rendered unusable.

“Hence, there is no point in even attempting to steal from or break into Swedbank cash machines. Security concerns go hand in hand with taking care of good customer service – because, while bolstering ATM security, we are able to provide our customers with the biggest ATM network in Latvian”, says Girts Berzins, Swedbank Board Member and Head of Retail Banking.

There are 315 cash-out ATMs and 79 cash-in ATMs in Swedbank’s network in Latvia.
