OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2012. The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine submits to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine the draft law on compulsory addition of ethanol to gasoline by producers of fuel from next year.

This was started by Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Yuriy Boyko on air of the Shuster LIVE program on the First National TV Chanel.

According to Yuriy Boyko, the bill provides that the content of ethanol in gasoline should be 5% from 2013, and 7% - from 2014.

"We bring the bill and I hope it will be adopted by the Government that the next year in any gasoline should be 5% ethanol, and from 2014 - 7%" - the Minister said.

Also Yuriy Boyko noted that during developing a new bill was taken into account the experience of EU countries and proposals of the participants of the oil market. According to the Minister, adding ethanol will allow Ukraine to reduce the volume of purchases of oil and to support national agricultural producers.

"This is a European experience, it will enable us to reduce the purchase of oil, on the other hand - download their farmers. We worked out the law with all market participants and believe that it will be certainly positive" - the Minister stressed.
