OREANDA-NEWS. April 11, 2012. With 36.5 billion rubles in capital, Sviaz-Bank placed 19th in Kommersant-Dengi magazine’s rankings of 100 biggest banks in Russia for the size of capital (as of January 1, 2012), and 22nd for the total net assets of 224 billion rubles. Over the past year, therefore, the Bank’s net assets rose by 20% and capital by 23.1%, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.

The Bank earned 3.7 billion rubles in net profit in 2011, the 22nd largest among banks operating in Russia on January 1, 2012.

Sviaz-Bank achieved this high financial performance by, among other measures, stepping up its banking operations, including lending, offering maintenance services to new groups of customers, and enhancing the efficiency of transactions.

Kommersant-Dengi named Sviaz-Bank 23rd among the most accommodating lenders, having issued 125.3 billion rubles in loans, 10.3% of them in consumer credit.

The Bank was also named among banks handling the largest sums in settlements and was put in 25th place, with over 41.6 billion rubles in deposit accounts. The Bank was further ranked ninth among banks making the largest investments and operating on the most practicable budgets.

The magazine’s high rankings of the Bank are evidence of its development as a commercial lending institution building up its share of the banking market.
