OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2012. By the end of 2011, Sviaz-Bank had issued and sold 472,912 plastic cards, a large enough number for the Bank to place 28th in the RBC.Rating Agency’s rankings based on the number of active cards, both issued and renewed, reported the press-centre of Sviaz-Bank.

The Bank issued over 150,000 cards, more than 82,000 of them new issue and over 71,000renewals, since the onset of 2011.

Sviaz-Bank is a full member of the VISA and MasterCard international payment systems. VISAcards take 92.6% of the Bank’s card portfolio, with MasterCard plastics picking up the remaining 7.4%.

“Last year, we continued pumping up the growth rates of our card business, expanding the customer base, and increasing the number of ATMs and card processing terminals, and we intend to keep up this way,” said Maria Zenina, Director of Sviaz-Bank’s Retail Banking Products Department. “We have one of the largest cash dispensing networks, with over 14,000post offices as part of it. In addition, our depositors and borrowers are also offered an opportunity to buy credit cards with a grace period on soft terms.”
