OREANDA-NEWS.  April 17, 2012. By the results of the Contest for the Prize of the Russian Geological Society (RosGeo) and Federal Subsurface Management Agency of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia (Rosnedra) the geologists of TATNEFT were named the winners in the category "Introduction of Innovative Technologies" for achievements in science, technology and exploration production organization in 2011, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.

The awarding ceremony was held on April 10, 2012 in the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia at the Board meeting of the Federal Subsurface Management Agency. Awards were presented by A.A. Ledovskikh, Head of the Federal Subsurface Management Agency and V.P. Orlov, President of RosGeo.

The work of TATNEFT Company's specialists "Introduction of the innovative technology of geochemical studies with application of the passive hydrocarbon adsorption method for exploration and prospecting of mineral resources" (Authors R.I. Gataullin, M.G. Chernysheva, V. Herman, S.E. Voitovich, R.S. Khisamov) was acknowledged the best in the category "Introduction of Innovative Technologies in Geological Exploration".

The innovative geochemical research technology in forecasting, prospecting and exploration for hydrocarbon raw materials proposed by the corporate authors is a way of passive adsorption. When applied the field and analytical work is performed with application of high-precision equipment, as identification of nano weight hydrocarbon components is required. A geochemical model of the territory of the works or part thereof is generated as a result of processing and interpretation of primary data. Traditional methods of multivariate classification of image recognition are used in the process of modeling.

This technology has for the first time in Russia passed a representative testing and scientific/production evaluation in the Republic of Tatarstan, Ulyanovsk, Saratov, Orenburg regions, Kalmykia, etc. and is recommended for a wide application at the regional and prospecting stages of oil and gas exploration.
