OREANDA-NEWS. April 17, 2012. The Parliament ratifies the Agreement on Additional Backing by WB at a sum of USD 10,2 mln. for the Healthcare and Social Assistance Services project. According to the document, the International development Association, a member of the WB group, will allot Moldova an additional loan of USD 10,2 mln. to improve healthcare services.

The loan ill be given unde standard conditions for 25 years, 5 year long grace period and 0,75% for service per year. The interest rate will make 1,25%. The Health Care Service and Social Assistance project consists of three components: modernization of the health care system, social assistance and social well-being and the project’s management.

The project is aimed at granting wider access to qualitative health care service to reduce death rate and early disability for the poorest stratum of population.

The project was valued at USD 17 mln. initially. The additional loan will be used to modernize and construct new health care centers in rural areas, promote reforms on the first medical aid and the aid given in hospitals, to make more functional the computer-aided information system “Social assistance”.
