OREANDA-NEWS. April 19, 2012. Under the SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev’s order dated April 18, 2012, the Commission has been set up to provide detailed investigation and objective assessment of the actions by the company officers and other participants in the events, based on the video and photo footage broadcasted in the media, as well as other obtained materials about events happened during joint operation of Security Department of SOCAR together with law enforcement authorities to prevent an illegal construction of buildings at the fields envisaged for oil and gas operations.
 The order states:

- Detailed information will be gathered about the measures taken by the Security Department on April 18, 2012;
- Information broadcasted in the media will be investigated in detail;

- The proposals will be made to define group of people who had not fulfilled or not properly fulfilled their official duties and made illegal actions against journalists and necessary measures will be taken on them;

- Gathering detailed information to sue people who recently carried out unauthorized constructions contrary to laws and applying to relevant law enforcement authorities according to the current legislation will be organized;

- Steps to regularly inform the public about the measures carried out by the Commission will be taken;

- The fulfillment of other obligations arising from this order will be provided.

Security Department is assigned to organize the awareness-raising measures for the personnel who participate in preventing illegal constructions, to meet the requirements of the legislation in conflict situations, internal regulations of SOCAR and job descriptions, and to provide necessary advocacy for demonstrating the model behaviour by the personnel in such situations.
