OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2012. The official opening of the new plastic moulding workshop took place at the enterprise „AXON’ CABLE” SIA, 21c, Vishku Str., Daugavpils.

At the opening ceremony of the company, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis emphasized: “It is particularly encouraging that since January Axon Cable has created 120 direct jobs in Latgale. We really appreciate Axon Cable’s confidence in Latvia and express gratitude to the company’s management in France as well as in Latvia for its successful operation, which has contributed to the rapid and successful exit from the crisis. The three most important economic policy priorities of the present government are: raising competitiveness, investment attraction and export promotion. From this perspective, the contribution of Axon Cable to our country’s economic development is particularly significant”.

The enterprise is specializing in the manufacturing of high-tech harnesses and connectors; it is also an expert in the technologies of plastic moulding and interference protection. In Latvia, the assembly of harnesses and connectors is carried out to satisfy the needs of European market where more than 80% of the total amount of products manufactured are exported.

Many workers of AXON CABLE SIA go to France for training and at the places it has been organized a training centre.

It has been envisaged to implement several new projects during the following few years in relation to the harnesses for electronic gear switching systems of bicycles as well as the individual kits of French infantry soldiers, the so called “future soldier kits”.

The development of the enterprise „AXON CABLE” Latvia is closely related to the work with external clients: in 2011, 5% of the manufactured products were exported to the Baltic countries, Russia, and Poland.
