OREANDA-NEWS. April 20, 2012. Deputy Head of FAS Russia Anatoly Golomolzin took part in the Competition Day in the Republic of Serbia. The conference was dedicated to the 6th anniversary of creating the Commission of the Republic of Serbia for Protecting Competition, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.  

Welcoming addresses at the Competition Day opening ceremony were given by the Prime-Minister of the Republic of Serbia – Mirko Cvetkovic; Ambassador, Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia – Vincent Degert; the Minister for Trade and Agriculture of the Republic of Serbia – Dusan Petrovic; and the President of the Commission of the Republic of Serbia for Protecting Competition –Vesna Jankovic. The event was attended by heads of competition authorities of Bulgaria, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Sweden as well as representatives of the European Commission and the American Trade Chamber in Serbia.

Conference participants discussed several important issues in the field of competition policy, in particular, the role of international cooperation and exchanging best practices for improving national competition law and enforcement practice, and cooperation between competition authorities for developing unified approaches to enforcement of competition norms.

Anatoly Golomolzin took part in a session on “International Cooperation – a Tool for Harmonizing Practicing of Competition Authorities”, where he gave a presentation on “International Cooperation of FAS Russia in the Field of Competition Policy”. According to Anatoly Golomolzin, extending action-oriented cooperation between competition authorities would encourages effective suppression of cross-border violations of competition law, which in its turn has favourable impact upon developing economic-and-trade and investment relations.
