OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2012. The agreement about this was achieved at the meeting of Premier of Moldova Vladimir Filat and Premier of Bulgaria Boyko Borisov in Sophia.

The Premier of Moldova expressed hope for a joint sitting of the government of the two states to be held to plan joint important actions on development of bilateral ties in various areas. Boyko Borisov drew attention of Bulgarian businessmen to investment possibilities of Moldova, an opportunity to export products to Russia and two free economic zones in Taraclia. The Bulgarian Premier appreciated development of tourist ties between our states and stressed that a number of Moldovan tourists visiting Bulgaria doubled.

The premiers also held a sitting of Cabinet ministers of the two states where the Intergovernmental Agreement on Cooperation in the Emergency Situations was signed. The document provides joint actions to prevent and liquidate aftershocks of natural and anthropogenic disasters.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, bilateral trade of Moldova and Bulgaria made up USD 100,4 mln in 2011, 48% up as compared with 2010. The volume of Moldova’s export to Bulgaria grew 80% to USD 33,8 mln. with the volume of Moldova’s import from Bulgaria increasing 36% to USD 66,7 mln.
