OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2012. Deputy Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) Pavel Subbotin had a working visit to the Republic of Mordovia, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

Together with the Head of Mordovia OFAS Russia, Yulia Popkova, he had a meeting with the Chief Federal Inspector for the Republic of Mordovia, Alexander Pykov, and the Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Mordovia, Vladimir Volkov. The parties discussed economic situation in Morodvia, and cooperation between government agencies and municipal authorities with the Antimonopoly Service in order to develop competition and support effective performance of product and financial markets.

Pavel Subbotin discussed with the Rector of Mordovia State University, Sergey Vdovin, possibility of founding a centre for studying the antimonopoly law on the basis of this university.

Pavel Subbotin also had a meeting with the staff of Mordovia OFAS Russia. Speaking to OFAS officers he paid special attention to practical use of antimonopoly law, outlined new objectives, prospects and areas of developing the Antimonopoly Service and answered question from OFAS personnel.

Deputy Head of FAS also took part in a function commemorating the 20th anniversary of Mordovia OFAS Russia, where he congratulated members of staff with this important date and presented awards of the Antimonopoly Service to members of staff.
