OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2012. Every taxpayer has to feel results of reforming Ukraine’s State Tax Service. This was stated by the Head of STS of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko during discussions with representatives of the World Bank concerning preliminary results of the "Modernization of the State Tax Service - 1" project implementation.

The project includes a series of information and analytical tools that significantly improved the relationship between State Tax Service employees and taxpayers. As a result of implementation of electronic means for exchange of information have been reduced the number of personal contacts taxpayers with state tax authorities. If two years ago only 39% of taxpayers filed tax records in electronic form, but today the figure is over 90%. From the beginning of May 2012 it will start working Certification Center of electronic keys, where each taxpayer to be able to get them for free.

Representatives of the World Bank noted that the results of collaboration with STS of Ukraine meet the planned performance indicators of project. They highly assessed quality of IT developments, which allowed implementing risk-oriented approaches to tax administration, particularly in the field the VAT refunding and conducting inspections.

The Head of State Tax Service of Ukraine Oleksandr Klymenko stressed the importance of further cooperation with international organizations to reform the tax service and improving the investment climate. "Despite the fact that the project of modernization of the State Tax Service of Ukraine is coming to its logical conclusion, reforms have not been finished at this point. Final evaluation of the results of this work will be given by a taxpayer," he concluded.
