OREANDA-NEWS. April 25, 2012.  Chery revealed their TX SUV concept today, a few days ahead of its official debut in the Beijing Auto Show. With its water-inspired, aggressive but smooth lines, the TX could shape Chery's future designs.

Arguably one of the best looking designs made in-house by Chery, it captured the attention of Chinese journalist who took pictures from every angle imaginable.

It looks like Chery couldn't quite finish the interior, but it's got unconventional air conditioning vents and a large screen in the center console. Renderings show a very futuristic design (click on the images to see a bigger picture). It was going to feature an electronic gear shifter, as seen on the second image.

The SUV is 4465mm long, 2082mm wide and 1670mm tall, with a 2825mm wheelbase. Aside from the large width, its dimensions make it the size of a compact SUV.

The concept is fitted with 22 inch wheels, which look good but stand no chance of going into production.

The TX will be powered by a turbocharged direct injection gasoline engine (TGDI), capable of peak 193 hp/5500rpm and maximum torque of 290N•m/1800rpm. It will be matched with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
