OREANDA-NEWS. April 26, 2012. Ministry of Finance of Moldova disclaims the information that it received USD 20 mln. from the government of Russia. According to the press release of the Ministry, a special account in the State Treasury of the Ministry of Finance was opened to accumulate financial aid for repairing the building of the Parliament and the Presidential Palace devastated and burnt during mass riots of April, 7, 2009.

Between April, 30 and July, 23, 2009, 130 mln. leis were accumulated on that account, including 30 mln. leis transferred by Banca de Economii and 100 mln. leis done by Moldtelecom. After July, 23, 2009 no other means were transferred to that account. No one state and no one individual transferred money to that special account, the Ministry stresses.

It declined all speculations on this issue and called all respective statements wrong and irresponsible. It should be reminded that earlier ex-President of Moldova, leader of CPRM Vladimir Voronin accused authorities of embezzlement of USD 20 mln., transmitted by Russia for restoration of the Presidential Palace.
