OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2012. Today, the signing of Memorandum of joint actions between the JSC “KazTransGas” (a subsidiary of JSC “NC “KazMunayGas”) and Akim of Almaty took place within the framework of further development of gas infrastructure in Almaty and in accordance with the action plan “comprehensive program of environmental pollution’s reduce in Almaty for 2009-2018 years”.  

According to the memorandum an effective implementation of joint activities on issues related to further gasification of the city provides, which is aimed primarily at the significant improvement of ecological situation in the metropolis:
 
the implementation of the project “Removal of facilities GDS-2 of Almaty” with the commissioning in 2013 with funding from the state budget;
 complete gasification of the private housing sector in Almaty in 2012-2013;
 A full transfer of the thermal power complex’s enterprises (CHP-1, NTA, ATKE) to use natural gas as fuel in 2012-2014.

In order to improve the environmental situation in Almaty in 2012 Administration of Almaty plans to create a second fleet of 200 buses running on compressed natural gas, and highlight the JSC “KazTransGas” as an appropriate land for the construction of CNG stations.

In 2010 JSC “KazTransGas” in conjunction with BG built the first CNG station, Administration of its part created the municipal fleet and purchased 200 buses running on compressed natural gas.

Taking into account the social dimension of passenger traffic and the need for the development of natural gas on a vehicle for improving the environmental situation in the city, JSC “KazTransGas” in 2012 kept current price on compressed natural gas for municipal vehicles at 33 KZT (VAT included).

JSC “KazTransGas” is currently undertaking the construction of 5 more CNG stations in Almaty, which will create conditions for the transfer of motor vehicles in Almaty on compressed natural gas. For realization of this project a joint venture with South Korea's Colon was founded.

The procedure, terms and other conditions of the Memorandum are determined on the basis of separate agreements. The memorandum was signed by Akimat of Almaty  - Erbol Shormanovym, deputy akim, and by JSC “KazTransGas” Director General  - Nurbol Sultan.

JSC “KazTransGas” was founded in 2000 to organize the work in the oil and gas industry and to work on corporate asset management in the exploration, production, transportation and distribution of gas. The group of companies JSC “KazTransGaz” includes businesses, which produce, transpor, and implement the gas and its derivatives, and organizations providing services.
