OREANDA-NEWS. May 04, 2012. In 2012, Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) launched a public welfare program targeted at college students—"Help You Grow-Excellent College Students Program". This Program consists of three sub-programs designed to meet different needs of college students, that is, ABC Cambridge Scholarship Program, Chinese College Students Economic Investigation Program and "Kins Trip" for Hong Kong young students to work and study in the Chinese mainland. The Program, which aims at servicing nation-wide college students, provides scholarships for studying abroad and internship opportunities to help them realize their dreams. It is a good platform for every student who has dreams and courage to pursue to grow into a socially useful man, reported the press-centre of ABC.

ABC Cambridge Scholarship Program: Co-funded by ABC and the Cambridge Overseas Trust, it aims at promoting equal opportunities for excellent Chinese students to study at Cambridge University, regardless of their social and economic status. From 2013, ABC and the Cambridge Overseas Trust will jointly fund 10 outstanding domestic students to pursue their postgraduate degrees at Cambridge University each year for three successive years. The ABC Cambridge Scholarship is supposed to cover tuition, college fees and sufficient living expense determined by the Cambridge Overseas Trust during their study at Cambridge University. This Program encourages the college students to pursue their dreams and achieve success.

Chinese College Students Economic Investigation Program: It is a public welfare activity initiated by First Financial Daily and co-organized with ABC in 2012. The Program aims at encouraging and funding Chinese college students to focus on hotspot economic issues concerning public interests. In this Program, students could use their knowledge to analyze real-life problems and exercise their critical thinking to have inclusive, comprehensive and complete ideas about those issues. It also stimulates students to make continuous efforts to explore solutions. The Program includes a campus road show, college student classrooms, economic investigation during summer vacation by college students and providing funds for team investigation and scholarship for winning teams. It provides an excellent platform for young students to gain successful experiences, broaden their horizon and enrich their lives.

"Kins Trip" – Service-Learning of Hong Kong Young Students in Mainland Program: Sponsored by ABC, the Program was co-initiated by the Youchange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation and Hong Kong Polytechnic University to enhance Hong Kong young students' knowledge about the motherland. As a Service-Learning activity, it recruits public-spirited young students from Hong Kong to serve and study in villages and communities in the Chinese mainland. Through providing short-term voluntary services and conducting field studies in villages and communities, participants could have a deeper understanding about real circumstances and people's livelihood of the Chinese mainland and develop sense of social responsibility and public spirit. In 2011, the first group of 30 students from Hong Kong Polytechnic University went to Inner Mongolia for service and leaning, and the activity achieved a good result.
