OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2012. China Top Hundred Green Companies list, which is a cross-sectoral evaluation of corporate sustainable competitiveness, is revealed. 100 China's "greenest" and most healthy companies including Baosteel are on the list, reported the press-centre of Baosteel. 

It is known that China's Green Company selection is initiated by China Entrepreneur Club and hosted by the private think tank Daonong Institute and "Green Company" magazine and it has been held five times. With five indicators: economic, social, environmental, innovation and transparency, the list gives a comprehensive measure of sustainable development of enterprises in 22 industries. The Expert Audit Committee is composed of 26 Chinese and foreign cross-border experts. Internet rating and voting results are converted into final score of enterprises,accounting for 5%. The sustained release of China's top 100 green companies aims to depict what the 21st century enterprises which may become great commercial organizations do and how they do it, with 100 companies as benchmarking models.

On the list, there are 20 state-owned enterprises and the top 10 are Baosteel, Haier, National Grid, Qingdao Beer, COSCO, Weichai Power, China Merchant Bank, China Southern Airlines, Tong Ren Tang and Guizhou Moutai. The top 10 of the 50 private enterprises on the list are Huawei, Lenovo, Trinity, Suning, ENN, Wanxiang, New Hope, Gree, Sina and Neusoft. Among 30 foreign-funded enterprises, the top 10 are General Electric, Procter & Gamble, Volkswagen, IBM, Schneider Electric, Chia Tai Investment, Samsung, BASF, Accenture and 3M. Experts believe that as leaders in continuous innovation, these enterprises are green leaders representing future market segmentation.

It is known that this year, there are 20 "2011 China Top 100 Green Companies" who get out of the list. The reasons include failure in environmental pollution control, food safety, product quality and industry trends control, losing business values, dishonesty, and serious damaging healthy business ecology, social ecology and environmental ecology.
