OREANDA-NEWS. May 10, 2012. In 2011, the aggregate insurance premium collected by the South Directorate of OJSC IC Allianz (ROSNO trademark) exceeded 482 bn. roubles, which is 13.4% higher than in 2010, reported the press-centre of IC Allianz.

This figure has been largely achieved thanks to the increase in volumes of agricultural risks insurance, motor insurance, insurance coverage of civil liability of owners of hazardous facilities, bankassurance, and other business lines.

Among the regions serviced by the South Directorate of OJSC IC Allianz, the leadership position in terms of volume of insurance premium collected has been, as usual, taken by the Krasnodar branch which accounted for almost 40% of the aggregate premium collected last year. A significant growth in premium volume was also achieved by the Rostov and Dagestan branches, which accounted for, respectively, 33% and 12% of the total volume of insurance premium collected by the South Directorate. Also, growth in premium collected was registered in the Rostov branch (140% in 2011) and Pyatigorsk branch, where business volumes increased by 53%.

Comparing to the previous year, growth was observed in the volumes of voluntary medical insurance (VMI) (by 70%) and comprehensive motor insurance (MOD) (by 18%), accounting for a large share in the structure of the portfolio of IC Allianz in the regions of Southern Federal Okrug. A 41% premium increase was registered in foreign travelers insurance. The increase of insurance premiums was also recorded in bankassurance, including mortgage insurance. In addition, the premium collected from insurance coverage of civil liability of owners of hazardous facilities amounted to about 2.5 million roubles.

"The current year has retained the main trends of the previous year", comments Mr. Andrey Ulanov, head of the Southern Directorate of OJSC IC Allianz. "Today the situation in the domestic insurance market is generally quite stable, as compared to what was observed just one year and a half ago. Moreover, the situation in the Southern region generally corresponds to the overall trends in the Russian insurance market. We may expect that the legislative novations enacted in 2012, tightening the requirements to the size of insurers’ authorized capital, agricultural insurance and insurance coverage of hazardous industrial facilities, will favorably affect the insurance market".
