TNK-BP announces that it is investing USD 40.4 mln in the modernization of loading racks for filling rail cars with light oil products at the Uvek fuel depot in Saratov Oil Refinery (part of the TNK-BP Group of companies) to minimize the facility’s environmental impact, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The Company is fully automating its loading system for gasoline and diesel fuel, thereby minimizing the likelihood of any dangerous substances entering the environment during loading operations. The Uvek depot upgrade is scheduled for completion by the end of 2013, when the loading rack will be capable of handling 1.3 million tonnes of gasoline and 2 million tonnes of diesel per annum.

“The Uvek fuel depot upgrade will not only minimize operational risks to the environment, but also greatly improve the level of safety at the facility by reducing to a minimum the potential impact of the human factor on operations”, stressed Elena Kompasenko, TNK-BP Vice President, HSE.
