OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2012. Representatives of Africa Union Holdings (Pty) Ltd. (AUH) on visited Belarusian Universal Commodity Exchange OJSC (BUCE). The working group on creating the regional commodity exchange in the Republic of South Africa held a number of talks with BUCE representatives with the purpose of finding ways of boosting trade and economic co-operation between Belarus and South Africa.

For reference: The regional commodity exchange is the common project of BUCE and AUH and is being created with the view of providing the parties’ clients with electronic and exchange trade instruments with direct access to the markets of the Republic of Belarus (Customs Union of Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan) and South Africa (South African Customs Union).

During the visit a number of issues on building infrastructure for the regional commodity exchange were solved due to the work carried out by BUCE technicians. Based on previous arrangements the parties agreed on a plan for completion of the technical and policy background required for the launch of the regional exchange in South Africa.
