OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2012. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, within the last 12 months, from April, 2011 till April, 2012, the Consumer Price Index increased 4,7%.

Inflation made up 1% in April, 2012, reaching 4,3%, within the first four months of the year and 6,5% within April, 2011- April, 2012. Prices for foods went 0,1% down, prices for nonfoods went 0,4% up; tariffs for services increased 0,1%. In April, 2012 prices increased most of all to fresh tomato and garlic, 4,2% each; they grew 1,5% for fresh fruit, 1,3% for meat and meat products. In particular, prices increased by 1,7% for beef, 3,1% for pork, 4,4% for mutton, 0,7% for the highest quality sausages.

At the same time prices decreased 7,4% for eggs, 6,3% for sugar beet, 3,8% for potatoes, 1,4% for cabbages, 1,3% for onions, 0,8% for rice, 0,5% for vegetable oil. Among nonfoods, in April, 2012 prices grew 0,6% for cloths. Prices for blouses and chemises increased 2,6%, growing 1,4% for dresses.

Men trousers increased in price 1,1%; foot wear went up 0,4%. Prices grew 0,2% for combustibles fuel, including 0,6% for liquefied gas and 0,2% for fuel. Among services, in April, 2012 charge for kindergartens and driving courses grew 1,7% and 1,4% respectively. Prices for most services and goods did not change in April.

As it was said before, the National Bank of Moldova kept its inflation rate prediction for 2012 at 4,9%. Inflation rate was 7,8% in 2011 in Moldova.
