OREANDA-NEWS. May 15, 2012. This resolution was adopted by the Administrative Board of ANRE. The fees for electricity for finical users served by RED-Nord grew 8,9% from 1,57 to 1,71 leis for 1 kWh.

Final users buying electricity from RED Nord-Vest are to pay 10,25 more, that is 1,73 leis for one kWh instead of 1,57 leis. According to ANRE Director Victor Parlicov, the new tariffs will come into effect after their publication in Monitorul Oficial scheduled on May, 18.

Victor Parlicov and representatives of distribution companies Gaz Natural Fenosa, RED-Nord и RED Nord-Vest called the increase in the tariffs unavoidable, taking into account the 13,2% raise of the purchasing price to 6,9 cents for 1 kWh for electricity supplied by the Moldovan hydro power plant and DTEK Power Trade, Ukraine.

In addition, earlier tariffs were raised for power generated at local heat stations due to higher prices for natural gas. On Friday ANRE also approved the increase of the power transport tariff for state enterprise Moldelectrica. It grew 18,6% from 6,76 to 8,02 bans for 1 kWh. The request of Moldelectria was met in part, since it insisted on the increase to 10,73 bans and voiced intention to sue ANRE in court.

As Victor Parlicov stressed, taking into account the wide experience of trials with Moldovagaz, ANRE is prepared for this, but at the current stage the Agency has not included all expenses offered by Moldelectrica and connected with its assets revaluation. According to the ANRE Director, the Agency has questions on the assets value and terms of their exploitation.

He also stressed that recently the share of expenses on electricity distribution had been declining in the structure of fee for electricity for final users, whereas the share of expenses on power generation had been constantly growing. This is explained by reasons beyond Moldova’s references, such as higher purchasing price for power offered by international companies and higher prices for gas, leading to more expensive generation of the domestic electricity.
