OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2012. By launching of a new passenger terminal, the Sergei Prokofiev International Airport in Donetsk has received a full modern aviation infrastructure complex. This was stressed by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov during the commissioning of new passenger terminal at the Donetsk Airport.

Henceforth, Donetsk Airport – is a powerful range of infrastructure: within the framework of reconstruction of Donetsk International Airport, in addition to a new terminal there was built a new artificial airstrip: length of 4 km, width - 75 meters, thickness - 1 meter. "The new Donetsk Airport’s airstrip - not only the most modern in our country but one of the best in the entire Europe," said Borys Kolesnikov. "It fully meets all international standards."

 In Donetsk it is also built Ukraine's highest airfield control tower - 52 meters.

"Commissioning of these facilities allows the airport to take all types of airplanes practically under any weather," Borys Kolesnikov underlined.
