OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2012. In its endeavour to support a vibrant art and culture scene to beautify the city, Tata Housing Development Company (Tata Housing), India’s fastest-growing real estate developer, has taken the initiative to design the longest wall painting activity in Mumbai — The Mumbai Wallbook. Tata Housing is encouraging Mumbaikars to express their love for the city by designing different facets of their dream city in colour at Tulsi Pipe Road, on May 20, 2012.

Around 500 artists will be putting their imagination to good use with the theme ‘Design your dream city’. The activity will be judged by eminent artists. Speaking about their association with The Mumbai Wallbook, Rajeeb Dash, head, marketing, Tata Housing, said, “We are very happy to be associated with The Mumbai Wallbook project and do our bit to design the beautification of the city by promoting this event. This is an initiative to redecorate the defaced city walls, with beautiful theme-based paintings by professional painters. This provides Mumbaikars with an opportunity to express themselves as well as project a positive message to society through art and give everyone a glimpse of what they desire their city should look like.”

The Mumbai Wallbook is an attempt by Tata Housing and Brand Promotions India to bring professional, amateur and budding artists on the same platform to showcase their skills and create a record for the longest wall painting.

Artists can participate individually or in groups.
