OREANDA-NEWS. May 16, 2012. Tata Power, India's largest integrated power utility, in continuation with its community development efforts in Haldia, renovated and repaired a local school for children.

The Haldia team extended a helping hand to Patikhali Primary School located in the area adjacent to its power plant, by providing them with new benches, repairing the class rooms and replacing the shed which had become a safety concern. The Company also repaired the roof of the school that was in a bad condition. In addition to these repairs, the entire school was repainted and the entrance was renovated.

One of the prime focuses of the Haldia plant for this year is to provide assistance to the local schools, help develop educational infrastructure and to facilitate quality education in these schools.

Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Vijayant Ranjan, Station Manager, Haldia Power Plant, said, “We at Tata Power are keen to improve the quality of life of our surrounding communities. In this journey, one of our thrust areas is helping the underprivileged section of the society especially children to continue with their education. Through renovation of this school we have tried to provide an enabling environment to these children so that they can continue with their studies and focus on a bright future ahead.”
