OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2012. Mazda Motor Corporation announced that sales of the Mazda Titan, a certified low emission vehicle which qualifies for Japan's new eco-car tax reduction program*1 will begin today at Mazda and Mazda Anfini dealers nationwide.

Mazda Titan
(FWD standard cabin model with 3.0-liter diesel engine, flat body, full wide low, 2.0-ton cargo capacity and Deluxe packaging)

To be certified as a low emission vehicle by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, vehicles need not only to meet Japan's 2009 emission standard (the world's most stringent) but also reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emissions by at least a further 10 percent.

Most Titan models are certified as low emission vehicles. Among those certified, models that qualify for Japan's 2015 fuel economy standards are eligible for the new eco-car tax reduction program*2 (reduction in vehicle acquisition and weight taxes) and eco-car subsidies*3 based on revisions to the taxation system effective from fiscal year ending March 2013.

Corresponding with Japan's upgraded safety standards the Titan features an updated rear underrun protection device that prevents passenger vehicles from becoming pinned under the vehicle in the event of a rear-end collision.
