OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2012. Belarus’ foreign trade surplus amounted to USD 1.366 billion in January-March 2012, compared to a USD 2.112 billion deficit in January-March 2011, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

The overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 24.502 billion in January-March 2012, up 20.9% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 42.5% to USD 12.934 billion, and imports increased 3.4% to USD 11.568 billion.

Commodity trade surplus reached USD 830.2 million in January-March 2012 to compare with a USD 2.629 billion deficit in January-March 2011

(USD 11.669 billion of exports, up 49.2% on the year, and USD 10.839 billion of imports, up 3.7%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 536.1 billion, up 3.7% on year (USD 1.265 million of exports, up 0.4%, and USD 728.7 million of imports, down 1.9%).
