OREANDA-NEWS. May 25, 2012.  In 2012 on the Turkish Akkuyu NPP site (architect general is Atomenergoproekt) engineering surveys required for the project documentation development will be completed.

Since this February employees of Atomstroyexport have been in Turkey to carry out topographic plotting. Their field season is to end in late August. The work will result in the topographical basis reflecting natural features of the locality and conditions of structures and engineering utilities.

Also, specialists of Atomenergoproekt work on the site whose task is to coordinate and control survey being done by the Turkish contractors.

The engineering surveys for the construction of Akkuyu NPP have been carried out by the employees of the Russian company together with local specialists since 2011. Last year this activity resulted in data that allowed Atomenergoproekt to produce the design documentation.

“Our specialists have already collected, processed and prepared for the further use a substantial volume of information on Akkuyu site. The engineering survey materials will serve as the basis for getting a license for construction of the first nuclear power plant in Turkey. Also, designers of our company are solving serious problems; this year they will have do a sizable amount of work to prepare the project and priority working documentation on the NPP, Ilya Kopytov, First Deputy Director General and Director for Engineering at Atomenergoproekt noted.
