OREANDA-NEWS. May 28, 2012. ExpoForum together with the Government of Saint Petersburg became the organizer of an interactive exposition as well as a business and cultural program of the Northern Capital of Russia within the scope of the EXPO-2012 World Exhibition in the South Korean city of Yeosu. The exhibition was opened on May 12 and will last for three months. The exposition "St. Petersburg as the Russian Sea Capital" will be presented on June 27 to 30.

EXPO-2012 is the largest world exhibition representing 106 national expositions of participant countries and 10 expositions of international organizations.  The 2012 topic reads: "The Ocean and the Coastal Area: Diversity of Resources and Their Rational Use".

The Russian exposition at the exhibition will surprise guests with its scale and innovative approach to the pavilion space organization. The basic principle of the exposition is interactivity. The stand will enable guests to review modern methods of study and development of depths of the ocean, the history of development of the Northern Sea Route, technologies of creation of alternative energy sources. The exposition includes Mir deep-sea vehicles, installations dedicated to the richness of the Russian seas and so on.

ExpoForum JSC received the right to organize the St. Petersburg exposition by winning the tender. In the early May 2012 the respective state contract was signed. According to the contract ExpoForum JSC was to organize participation of St. Petersburg. Organizational work was performed together with the Committee on Economic Development, Industrial Policy and Trade of the Government of St. Petersburg. The interactive exposition "St. Petersburg as the Russian Sea Capital" will represent the city as an important sea transit center, the international center of advanced water technologies, the birthplace of Russian navigation, the largest shipbuilding center, the protector of environmental safety of the Baltic Sea, the scientific center of study of the World Ocean, a sea tourist and diving center.

The St. Petersburg delegation will include representatives of the Government of St. Petersburg and city companies. Among them: United Shipbuilding Corporation, GUP Vodokanal Sankt-Peterburga, Saint Petersburg Flood Prevention Facility Complex Dam, UK Marine Facade, Transas, National Dive League, NTP Gidroprivod, FGUP Rosmorport Northwestern Branch, LLC  Fregat, ZAO Kreal, JSC  Navy Devices, TD Tekhnomarin, Baltic Customs, etc. They will present their latest developments and hold negotiations with top managers of foreign companies, representatives of the administration of Yeosu and the International Exhibition Bureau. The program also provides for a visit to Samsung Digital Centre in order to review technical innovations.

ExpoForum JSC is preparing not only presentation of these projects and business and cultural programs, but also brochures about St. Petersburg companies, applications for iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android operating systems in Russian, Korean and English, so that anyone can download the materials to their mobile devices.

As Executive Director of Expo-Forum JSC Sergey Voronkov notes, organization of participation in foreign events is a new area of the company's activity which started just a couple of months back. "Presentation of St. Petersburg at such a large-scale event as the World Exhibition is a great start for a new area of activity", he emphasized. After EXPO-2012 ExpoForum will start preparing an exposition and program for the 23rd international exhibition of production equipment, materials, technologies and services "Manufacturing Indonesia’2012" which will be held on December 5 to 8 in Jakarta.
