OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. Tashkent hosted a seminar on the issues of attracting tourists to Uzbekistan from South Korea and the prospects of medical tourism.

The event was organized by the National Company Uzbektourism with the state unitary enterprise Intourist-Tashkent, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Korea and South Korea’s Embassy in Uzbekistan.

The representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, a number of firms and companies operating in tourism sphere as well as medical workers of the two countries have participated in it.

At the event, it was highlighted that the relations between Uzbekistan and South Korea is developing actively also in tourism sphere like in many other fields. Today, nearly 10% of world gross product falls on the share of tourism. The interest of tourists in visiting Uzbekistan is growing on the world tourism market, including among the South Korean tourists.

The seminar focused on the issues of enhancing the exchange of tourists between the two countries, particularly in the field of medical tourism. Presentations of a number of clinics in South Korea were held within the event.
