OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. Complex drills on the actions of airport services in emergencies were held at the Tolmachevo airport on May 22.

During the drills, staff actions in case of damage of aircraft   were worked out. Search and rescue service crew of the Tolmachevo airport localized fire, evacuated conditionally injured passengers in conjunction with medical staff and provided towing of the aircraft to a safe parking area.

About 20 airport departments   and other organizations participated in the training. According to the managers of the operational headquarters, exercises were successful, all the tasks were completed.

Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo)is the largest air hub East of the Urals on major transit routes between Europe and Asia. The airport has two runways. Air cargo is one of the main business areas of the airport. In 2011   such cargo airlines as Air Cargo Germany (Germany), ULS Airlines Cargo (Turkey) and Cargolux Airlines International (Luxembourg) became new partners of Tolmachevo Airport. Scheduled and charter cargo flights to Tolmachevo airport are carried out by such Russian and foreign airlines as "Volga-Dnepr", "Polet Airlines", "Aeroflot - Russian Airlines", Air Cargo Germany and others. According to business plan in 2012 the Tolmachevo Airport plans to handle more than 26,000 tons of cargo and mail that is 28% more than in 2011.
