OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. Delegation from Salut held a series of meetings in Astana (Kazakhstan) with representatives of Kazakhstan, Byelorussia and Ukraine during the 2nd International Armaments and Military Equipment Show KADEKS-2012.

The Kazakh counterparts expressed their interest in deploying a repair facility for Al-31F engines in the premises of the West-Kazakhstan Machine-building Company (WKMBC, in the city of Uralsk) and willingness to have a quotation submitted for the supply of restorative maintenance tooling.

Today's active partnership between our two companies covers the restorative maintenance activities on the already available engines. In 2011, a group of technicians from WKMBC successfully completed the training course at Salut for this type of operations. “The discussions were focused on the current warranty maintenance issues provided for in the contract under implementation with regard to several now-operated engines - with one more engine to be reconditioned to its full service time between overhauls” – said Boris Bazhenov, Deputy Sales Director of Salut.

Among other cooperation topics raised during the show were the discussions with the Ukrainian colleagues on the contract advancement for the supply of thirty AL-21 engines with complements of spares by “UKRSPETSEKSPORT” and the anticipated joint tendering with Byelorussia's ARZ No 558 (Aircraft Repair Factory in Baranovichi) for the overhaul of four Su-27 aircraft belonging to the Defense Ministry of Kazakhstan.
