OREANDA-NEWS. May 29, 2012. The employees of JSC “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” together with the specialists of LLC “Universal Forwarder” handled the shipment lot of import heavy-lift equipment according to board-to-board variant– from feeder vessel to the river barges. Cargo from Belgium with the total weight of 949 tons was handled by the floating crane “Bogatyr”.
 
This heavy-lift equipment will be shipped from the port to Moscow and then further to the customer- to “Tyazhpromarmatura” plant (Tula region) for modernization of the manufacturing process of metal products.

 
Similar operations on handling of out-of-gauge and heavy-lift cargoes are performed in “Sea Port of Saint-Petersburg” regularly. Besides the floating crane “Bogatyr” with the lifting capacity up to 300 tons Leibherr cranes with the lifting capacity up to 150 tons and twin gantry cranes with the lifting capacity up to 60 tons can participate in these operations.
