OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2012. The corporate loan portfolio of NOMOS-BANK’s customer office in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, grew by 62% in 2011 to RUB 3.3 billion. Customer numbers more than doubled last year and are continuing to increase in 2012. Bank products have found high demand from various sectors of the Tatarstan economy, including machine-building, chemicals and petrochemicals, and retail trade. The update on business progress of the NOMOS-BANK office in Kazan was given by Ildar Khamatshin, manager of the Kazan office, at a conference for corporate customers organized by the Bank.

The conference was on the theme of how to make best use of Bank products to achieve business growth and was attended by about 40 CEOs and owners of large and medium-sized companies in Tatarstan, which are current or potential customers of NOMOS-BANK.

"NOMOS-BANK already has long experience of successful operation on the business-lending market. We understand our customers and their needs. The range of NOMOS-BANK products and services provides comprehensive financial support to our customers, enabling them to address specific business tasks," Mr Khamatshin said.

The conference gave special attention to the business opportunities offered by such instruments as bank guarantees, project financing, and financing of government and municipal contracts.

Mr Khamatshin predicts sustained growth of demand for guarantees and loans relating to government and municipal contracts, due to implementation in Tatarstan or major housing and infrastructure projects. NOMOS-BANK issued various guarantees in Tatarstan to the value of more than RUB 5 billion in 2011 alone.

The Bank’s extensive range of guarantee products includes: guarantees to the tax authority for VAT reimbursement based on the declarative principle, tender guarantees, guarantees for execution of contract obligations, guarantees for return of advance payments, payment guarantees, guarantees with respect to customs authorities, guarantees to government bodies regulating the alcoholic drinks market with respect to obligations for use of special labels, and guarantees to the tax authority with respect to exemption of producers of alcohol and/or goods containing alcohol from advance payment of excises.

The Deputy Ministry of Economics of the Republic of Tatarstan, Artem Zdunov, told conference delegates about government support for investors in the Republic. He noted that the government is always ready to assist investors through tax preferences and subsidies, to consider investor proposals for expansion of government support, and to engage in dialogue. A relatively new programme is also now available to help investors: a investment tax credit, which offers a grace period of up to seven-years for tax payment, based on certain value criteria.

NOMOS-BANK and the Tatarstan Economics Ministry also reached agreement on joint work to develop government subsidization of commissions payable on bank guarantees as well as participation by NOMOS-BANK representatives in an expert council attached to the Ministry.
