OREANDA-NEWS. May 30, 2012. Azerbaijan’s oil production keeps on falling, but oil production by SOCAR starts growing.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan reports that this Apirl oil production by SOCAR reached 684,300 tons against 660,900 in March, 660.942 tons in February and 706,638 tons in January 2012 .The Company’s oil production for Jan-Apr 2012 made 2.7 million tons versus 8,400 million tons in entire 2011.

Country’s total oil production in April amounted to 3.498 million tons versus

3.557 million tons in March, 3.557.780 tons in February and 3.945 million tons in January 2012. For Jan-Apr 2012 oil production reached 14.559 million tons versus 45.625 million tons in 2011.

Peak oil production by SOCAR was recorded in 2009 – 9.5 million tons and by the country as a whole in 2010 – 50.795 million.

In 2011, peak production was recorded in January, when SOCAR produced 720,100 tons and the country as a whole 4.1 million tons.
