OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2012. Academician M.F. Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems is completing the telecommunications spacecraft ordered by PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk. – one of the largest operators in the Asia-Pacific region.

The Telkom-3 satellite has successfully undergone the full cycle of on-ground experimental verification, which ensures spacecraft’s seamless performance after it is launched and deployed in orbit. The satellite is currently being prepared for shipment to the cosmodrome: ISS- Reshetnev’s team is installing solar panels, recording reference telemetry data. The spacecraft is scheduled for delivery to Baikonur in late May, and then it is to be inserted into geostationary orbit.

Telkom-3 is the third satellite manufactured by the Reshetnev Company for a foreign customer. The telecommunications spacecraft is intended to provide communications, broadcasting and data transmission services in the territory of Indonesia and Indochina.
