OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2012. The Government of Irkutsk Region assures that they will provide for their maximum cooperation both in design and exploration works and in elaboration of regional legal acts connected with the project realization.

“I suppose it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to consider this event a vital step in the history of the region’s progress. This affords grounds to hope that the Government of Irkutsk region, executive authorities, as well as the society will provide for a considerable assistance in solving questions regarding the realization of the project of Kuyumba-Taishet oil pipeline – a new transportation arteria of a nationwide scale”, said Aleksei Sapsai, the Deputy Vice-President of TRANSNEFT JSC.

The functions of organization of projecting and building, as well as operating functions are transferred to TRANSNEFT JSC, besides, the project will be financed using the funds that are presupposed by TRANSNEFT’s investment program.

Estimated cost of all the measures on the oil pipline building can amount 96.3 billion RUR. The project presupposes building of a pipeline, four oil pumping stations, a tank farm of a volume of about 120 thousand cubic meters, and different objects of infrastructure.

The total length of the route will amount 703 km, including 200 km on the territory of Irkutsk Region. It is planned to build one of the four presupposed by the project oil pumping stations on the territory of Irkutsk Region. Beside attracting different specialists, some trainings will also be organized to educate local qualified personnel.

This pipeline is destined to provide for transportation oil from oil fields of ROSNEFT, Gazprom Neft, and TNK-BP Holding.
