GE Healthcare today announced that Boston Medical Center (BMC) is live on a new version of Centricity Business, an enterprise-wide revenue cycle management solution that helps healthcare providers achieve greater profitability, and efficiency. This latest upgrade provides BMC with enhancements to simplify patient scheduling and registration, while delivering strong interoperability with Centricity EMR, GE Healthcare’s electronic medical records solution. BMC joins a growing number of healthcare organizations that are using GE Healthcare’s clinical and financial solutions to improve revenue cycle performance and enhance patient care.

Boston Medical Center is a non-profit 639 licensed-bed medical center created by the formal merger of the nation’s first municipal hospital, Boston City Hospital, and Boston University Medical Center Hospital in July 1996. It has the largest 24-hour Level I trauma center in New England and its Emergency Department had more than 131,000 visits in 2009. It employs more than 1,200 in-house physicians, 1,600 nurses and is the primary teaching affiliate of the Boston University School of Medicine.
