OREANDA-NEWS. June 4, 2012. PT Pertamina (Persero) launches Pertamina Fuel Agents ("Agen BBM Pertamina") that will accommodate the sales of non-subsidized Solar diesel fuel to vehicles owned by government agencies, local government, state-owned enterprises, and by mining and plantation companies across Indonesia.

Pertamina Fuel Agents are tank trucks with 5,000 - 8,000 diesel capacity, equipped with current meter, product pump and nozzle, that enable them to work as mobile (or moving) fuel stations. The launch of Pertamina Fuel Agents is part of Pertamina's corporate initiative to support government policy in controlling the consumption of subsidized fuels.

"The selection process for agents was completed and for the next two weeks, we will follow up with armada preparation. By mid-June, we hope to have 65 Pertamina Fuel Agents armadas operating across Indonesia," said Director for Marketing and Trading of Pertamina Hanung Budya Yuktyanta when inaugurating the launching of Pertamina Fuel Agents at Pertamina headquarters today.

The armada of Pertamina Fuel Agents will spread in Sumatera (12 armada), Jakarta-West Java-Banten (6 armada), Centra Java-East Java-Bali-Nusa Tenggara (21 armada), Kalimantan (20 armada), and  Sulawesi-Papua-Maluku (6 armada). By the end of the year, the Company projects that around 200 similar armada will be operating across Indonesia.

Hanung emphasized that Pertamina would continue its commitment to fulfill the 2012 quota of subsidized fuel (BBM Bersubsidi 2012) as instructed to the Company.

Beside launching Pertamina Fuel Agents, the Company also implements the POS (point of sales) monitoring system for subsidized fuels. In South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan, there are 110 points of sales under monitoring to record the every vehicle's purchasing behavior for subsidized fuels, including the volume, time, fuel station location, normalcy of the purchase, and identity.

Furthermore, Pertamina has been developing fuel stations that exclusively serve non-subsidized fuels only at various locations. There are currently 21 fuel stations that exclusively provide non-subsidized diesel fuel. Pertamina now operates 5 Pertamax Series fuel stations across Greater Jakarta and Bali, and plans to add more such stations.

"Pertamina is ready to implement the government policy to control subsidized fuels. Pertamina has prepared various infrastructure to support the policy, including setting up fuel depots, tank trucks, and fuel stations since mid-2010," he said.
