OREANDA-NEWS. June 15, 2012. Deputy Chief Veterinary Surgeon of pig breeding complex “Petrovsky” Sergey Kulishkin visited Germany at the invitation of German company Biochem – developer of advanced fodder additives, chelates, probiotics and veterinary drugs, reported the press-centre of Titan.

The main aim of the trip was acquaintance with capabilities of modern veterinary medicine, which is practiced according to the requirements of the European Union. It is known that in European countries it is forbidden to use growth stimulating fodder antibiotics in animal breeding, this is why companies like Biochem develop safe drugs which exercise prophylactic action and improve their development. Besides presentation of possibilities of modern fodder additives the participants of the event were able to complexly evaluate evolution of pig breeding industry in Germany.

Right upon the arrival the guests could visit the office of Big Dutchman company (supplier of equipment for the Omsk pig breeding enterprise) which is situated in the city of Fekhta, where they were able to observe novelties, which are proposed by the company to industrial animal breeding. The next day was dedicated to examination of production areas of the event organizer – company Biochem, and also to master-class from the leading European specialists on the issues of digestion, metabolism and adjacent veterinary problems. The final stage of the official part of the visit was attendance to LVL laboratory, where veterinarians listened to master-class on differential and laboratory diagnostics.

“In Russia modern industrial agriculture uses antibiotics stimulating growth of the animal. Application of these drugs gives significant additional weight, reduces feeding expenses, i.e. makes the business more profitable. Unfortunately, research activities confirm, that the use of biostimulators negatively influences the health of humans who consume such meat. Entering the organism, antibiotics negatively influence gastrointestinal flora, reduce resistivity to infections, support increase in resistivity to antibiotics.

In Europe antibiotics which stimulate growth are abolished since 2006. Instead of them developer companies create safe substitutes, which also “work” against bacteria and fungi, but at the same time they are safe for human health. In the United States, China and Russia the application of biostimulators is still legitimate, but on pig breeding complex of the project “PARK” antibiotics of such spectrum of effects are not used. Significant additional weight is provided by good genetics – result of long and elaborate work of Irish specialists.

Moreover – antibiotics for treatment of illnesses can be applied on rare occasions, when threat of epidemy exists. Happily, I can state, that high degree of biological protection, provided on the pig breeding complex (sanitation gaps, strict limit on the access of strangers, sanitation barriers etc.), allows to use antibiotics on exclusively rare occasions. Production made from the meat of pigs grown on pig breeding complex of the project “PARK” will be ecologically pure and absolutely safe”, - commented Sergey Kulishkin.
